Hi thanks for the reply. looking at http://developer.android.com/reference/android/telephony/TelephonyManager.html#ACTION_PHONE_STATE_CHANGED if ACTION_PHONE_STATE_CHANGED was used as the filter, what could be used to tell if the phone had lost or gained signal?
