Hello, I'd like to get started developing apps for android and I'm
getting errors trying to set up the plugin with eclipse. In Window ->
Preferences, I click the Android plugin, and it throws two errors:

Error 1:
Could not open selected VM debug port (8700). Make sure you do not
have another instance of DDMS or of the eclipse plugin running. If
it's being used by something else, choose a new port number in the
preferences.

Error2:
Unable to create the selected preference page.
Reason:
Plugin com.android.ide.eclipse.adt was unable to load class
com.android.ide.eclipse.adt.preferences.AndroidPreferencePage

For error1, I've checked to make sure nothing is using port 8700, and
nothing is. For error 2, I've read that:

"GCJ and Subclipse have never played well together. You need to use a
different JVM such as the one from Sun."

Will using another JVM affect the development? Anyway, thanks in
advance for your advice. I'm running all this on ubuntu, by the way.
