I think I need to add to my question. 1 part is what I described in my first post and your answer is very useful thank you! 2) how do i add such a re-usable view into an existing view at run time? So, lets say i have an activity already painted that has a button on it. on the button click handler, i want to look up this re-usable layout that is backed by its layout xml and add that layout to a specific layout in my already painted activity.
