I want to deploy my application to Android users and I have some
questions:

We have created a subscription model program we have deployed to a
website which collects payments. After payment is successfully
processed the user is notifed and given an username and password which
then allows users to login to have access to a subscription model of
application's content. Furthermore we used the subscription model to
create an iPhone app.

I want to deploy the same subscription model to Android system users.
I have already created the Android app; however, I am now trying to
figure out how to implement the subscription model we have created for
the iPhone and our web version of the app. I have seen many users
struggle to find an answer to the "subscription" question...

So here are my questions:

1. Can I deploy a subscription based application for FREE for users
who have paid their subscription from our website?
1a. In this model the freely distributed Android application,
via the Android market place, will require users to login to get
access to our program. The login is validated using a web services to
authenticate users who have paid their subscription.

2. Can you use the new API In-App billing checkout to collect monthly
payments from within the app once the subscription has expired?
2a. How about using the In-App billing from our website to
collect monthly, quaterly, yearly payments and this way also pay
Google their 30% fees?
2b. How will Google collect their 30% royalties if option 2 is
against TOS?
2c. If option 2a is also not possible what other venues do you
get Android developers to deploy their subscription style program?
2d. How could I use the In-app legally to collect subscription:
from the Android app, from my product web site, or do I need to
insruct the user to reinstall the app from the market place every time
their subscription expires?

3. If the payments are made navigating to our payment web page to
collect payments, when user's subscription has expired, from within
the Android program itself will that be okay or against Android TOS?

Can the Android Team put a case study showing step-by-step how to
implement a subscription program without violating TOS. Also how would
they collect their 30% fees for them? Example Cable TV subscriber can
watch TV program on their Android because they paid their
subscription. How does Android collect fees for that?

I would truly appreciate your input.

Truly,
Yama Kamyar
