I seem to have exactly the same problem. After unregistering the sensors, my app does not get any sensor events anymore (according to logcat). However, the battery use increases steadily, even after stopping the app from the manage apps menu. The battery stats only normalize after rebooting the phone. Does anybody have a solution/hint what I could do to unregister the sensors such that Android no longer believes my app eats up the battery, even when it is not running?
