I just compiled two versions of sqlite lite. 3.7.7.1 2011-06-28 17:39:05 af0d91adf497f5f36ec3813f04235a6e195a605f and 3.6.11
Created a table called test.db using 3.6.11 and it worked just fine when reading the data using the latest version. If I can find a version for the source of the versions you tried I can try those out as well. I suspect the error has to do with your funky file name.
