Apparently this happens when you force an activity to portrait. Now before anyone jumps on that, I have an activity that has instructions for the user to calibrate their compass, and the display needs to be locked in one orientation for it to work in a sane manner. Hopefully I will have time to fix this, if anyone sees this, this is what the problem seems to be. WOW.
