Sony Ericsson, I think we Verizon Xperia Play customers deserve an explanation.
Quotes from http://unlockbootloader.sonyericsson.com/
We strongly recommend that standard users NOT unlock the boot loader, as it is not needed. We are proud to deliver great phone experiences through our rigorously tested and official software releases.
We don't have the option to disable the light sensor (err...), we don't have the option to remap our gamepad keys (R button for camera is just so obvious!), and we can't do a million things we can with root. Reading the website is just insulting.
You should be aware that unlocking the boot loader will not give you root access. The only way to get root access is to flash a custom ROM with root access.
This is not true, a custom ROM is NOT necessary for ROOT.
It is currently not possible to unlock the boot loader for CDMA phones. We are however working on this.
This is the worst one, what's the deal with this? We all know it is possible, and someone just went out of their way to make it harder. --- Despite all this, I will still give Sony Ericsson the benefit of the doubt and hope they can give an explanation. Something tells me it's Verizon that is pushing SE around. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
