Isn't that still a 3 month window? It just seems ridiculously long to me. I'm not bashing the guys, I'm sure they're pulling out all the stops. a possible (and likely) 3 more months with no revenue could be serious for many people.
I know there are other alternatives like SlideMe which I will certainly be looking into but for the mass market, the default store is the one they will check, probably exclusively.
