I would think that changing the layout_height of the LinearLayout to "wrap_content" would help. With what you have, both children of the RelativeLayout are set to "fill_parent", so they'll have the same height.
Also, I would recommend you make up your mind whether you're going to use "fill_parent" or "match_parent".
