Hello,

I've been seeing some strange behavior, that might point to bugs in
various parts of my architecture (servers, protocols etc.) Before I
start debugging elsewhere, in the more complex parts of the system, I
would like to be sure that only one instance of a specific subclass of
Service or Application may exist. A guy here (http://groups.google.com/
group/android-developers/browse_thread/thread/e3f1094c66210315) has
asked whether he could create multiple instances of the same Service -
I would like to know the opposite in a sense: Are we guaranteed that
only one instance of each Application or Service may exist (as long as
they are only created in the appropriate way, of course)? Dianne
Hackborn replies to his thread that Service implementations are
singletons. I guess I would just like to be sure that there is no
overlap in the lifetime of separate instances of the same Service/
Application implementation.

Thank you for your time,
DuneCat
