If you have any code in the app that saves user preferences or other data, you could use that to check if the user was new to the app or not and show ads only to those that have never used it before. If you don't have any configuration or saved settings, it may be difficult.
You might just give your users a free opt-out option. That way if they were annoyed by your placement of ads, they could simply stop them.
