@Fritz I run into the same problem, using as you did "Eclipse Classic 3.7.1" on Windows 7. The ADT Plugin installation worked OK on the latest version of Eclipse, "Eclipse IDE for Java Developers".
Other problem I run into: Starting the SDK manager from Eclipse did not work well because any component you want to install runs into file permissions problems.
