This is a problem of the MMS application that seems to accept file://
data (through its IntentFilter), but crashes upon actually receiving
them.

We have put a work-around in place by providing the attachment through
a Content Provider.

You can get the latest development release from
http://code.google.com/p/openintents/source/browse/#svn/trunk/FileManager
. We will push this to the Market probably at the end of the week,
after some beta-testing.
