I'm attempting to write some integration tests using the Activity instrumentation test case framework.
Here's the scenario: (1) An Activity presents some data as a form for the user to complete. (2a) If data submission is successful the form Activity launches a new Activity. (2b) If data submission fails an alert prompt is displayed by the form Activity . I can test the success path (2a) using an ActivityMonitor to check the launched Activity but am unsure how to write a test that verifies the alert prompt is raised if the failure path (2b) is hit. I can see ways to do this by adding special flags to the form Activity but would prefer to avoid altering the system under test with functionality that is only used for test. Any ideas?
