I am seeing some evidence that folks are able to use MyTracks to track a long bike ride. So, I might do some testing with it to make sure that is the case (recommendation is to turn off things you don't need, like wifi, bluetooth, and switch to 2G are among the recommendations. Though Airplane mode was also recommended).
If that works out reasonably well, then I guess I can assume I shouldn't worry so much about it?
