I tried API level 13, and it does not work. The problems occurs only when the GrantCredentialsPermissionActivity launched, and with a custom account manager. In order to reproduce the problem, the app and account manager implement must signed with different certifications. I found a similar post here : http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23421 where you can find an example.
