We are working on the same project here and maybe we can collaberate on issues like this. I have not noticed this exact issue but many like it. Once white board is up it keeps going over night. When I close one phone the other still stays connected and openfire still shows both phones as active. So not too much in the way of status updates once the data connection is established.
