Maybe this is an easy question, but I'm not quite sure.
Which is faster to read from on an Android tablet? RAM or the SD Card? I'm guessing probably RAM, but I'm having a hard time figuring out the typical read speed from RAM. I'm guessing typical RAM in an Android tablet is maybe 500 MHz. So I'm guessing you can read maybe 500 megabytes per second? I have measured the read speed from my Galaxy Tab's SD card, and it is about 20 megabytes per second. So, I'm guessing reading from RAM is about 25 times faster? (at least on my Galaxy Tab) Does this sound about right? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
