I want to enable and disable GPS programatically.
for that we are using
private void turnGPSOn(){
String provider = Settings.Secure.getString(getContentResolver(),
Settings.Secure.LOCATION_PROVIDERS_ALLOWED);
if(!provider.contains("gps")){ //if gps is disabled
final Intent poke = new Intent();
poke.setClassName("com.android.settings",
"com.android.settings.widget.SettingsAppWidgetProvider");
poke.addCategory(Intent.CATEGORY_ALTERNATIVE);
poke.setData(Uri.parse("3"));
sendBroadcast(poke);
}
}

above code that is working fine upto 2.2 but above version it is not
working.
Please help me to reslove this issue.
I want to in above 2.2 version can we enable and disbale GPS
programatically or not
Os many developer told we can not enable and disable GPS above 2.2 version
