I have an app with a foreground Service, which shows a Status Bar Notification. It is working working properly with Android 2 and 3, but now I see that on some devices with Android 4, the Notification sometimes disappears a while after the Service is started. When the Service is restarted, the Notification reappears again. Even if the Notification has been removed from the Status Bar, the Service itself seems to continue working properly. This seems to happen on some new HTC and Galaxy devices, but I have not seen it happen on a Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc which has been upgraded to Android 4.04. The Status Bar Notification was created with FLAG_NO_CLEAR and FLAG_ONGOING_EVENT. Is this a known issue? Are there any work-arounds? Anybody? Terry
