Why are you making your activity translucent? If this is to allow the launcher to be seen through behind it, you shouldn't let the screen rotate if the launcher doesn't want it to -- the launcher has locked the rotation because it doesn't want to be rotated.
If you actually are drawing everything in your activity so the launcher can't be seen, then why are you using the translucent theme?
