I've never used it, but I do have some intuitions from what I've heard on the forum. It seems that it's not perfect and not extremely beautiful, but people generally get by with it for open source apps. If you want to get something better you'd probably have to jump up to a licensed library (i.e., for Android I *think* this is the best solution available, of course you can always try to hack the more standard ones for Java, too..)
