FULL_WAKE_LOCK is supposed to keep the screen and the keyboard on at full
brightness:

You could try adding ACQUIRE_CAUSES_WAKEUP to the wake lock or use the
window manager flag, if you can (which is managed for you if the window
loses and regains focus).
