Based on the fact that the first time i connected - it displayed a FIOS ad 
in my browser.

didn't ask for that.

also 31MB for a simple ADB interface - the usb driver was already installed.

usually one can get the ADB interface to work (i.e. recognize the device) 
by just changing coupla lines in the ini file.

that's the info i was looking for.
