Why does the Basic GL Surface View example make a call like this?

GLES20.glTexParameterf(GLES20.GL_TEXTURE_2D, GLES20.GL_TEXTURE_MIN_FILTER, 
GLES20.GL_NEAREST);

Doesn't the f in glTexParameterf imply that the last parameter is a float?

But, it is an int:

public static final int GL_NEAREST = 0x2600;
