Hi everyone, I'll cut right to the chase... I have an app live in the Google Play store that supports Android 2.1+ I'm seriously thinking about adopting an Android 4.0+ ONLY app development policy. Fragmentation is doing my head in trying to support legacy devices, i just don't think its worth the pain any more.
My question is: if my current live Google Play app currently supports 2.1+, and if i go and re-write it to support 4.0+ only policy. When i upload the APK, will (1) the current users of the app just not get the updates from that point until they update their Android OS version, and (2) will only 4.0+ users have access to the app in Google play? I'm not sure how this works with an app currently supporting 2.1+ wanting to move away 4.0+. I just cant find the information i need. Any info appreciated.
