We, the faculty of the ASU School of Nutrition and Health
Promotion<http://healthpromotion.asu.edu/> need
an amazing design-focused engineer; an engineer who wants to have impact in
health technologies and change the world for the better. We are working
collectively on trying to solve complex societal problems like childhood
obesity, chronic physical inactivity, poor sleep, improving the design of
cities to make them healthier, more environmentally sustainable, and
livable, and improving access to food for those most in need. To do this,
a key part of our collective work involves the use of mobile and web
technologies to foster these sorts of societal changes. We need a
passionate developer interested in changing the world with us to make it
happen though!
We are seeking applicants for a* mobile software programmer*,
preferably living
or willing to live in the Phoenix Metro area. This programmer would be the
second programmer hired within the School's nascent "Programming Core,"
headed by Henry Barto. For this position, the programmer will be working
with research faculty <http://healthpromotion.asu.edu/faculty>and students
within the school to design and develop a variety of different mobile and
other software tools broadly focused on promoting healthier living (e.g.,
see designinghealth.org for a list of past research focused on technology
and behavior change conducted by one of the faculty).
