You do have to apply some inference from the information. Programming is an 
art
of applying known techniques to unknown problems. I do see your answer 
there.

They say not to store (read - transfer) Geofence objects directly, but to 
serialize the individual fields.

Why can't you use that same technique?

Please answer specifically.
