Let me repeat and emphasize what Dianne said. When you look in the public open sources, you are both "looking into the future" and "looking under the covers". Both can generate very different results than asking "is something supported in the SDK."
In this case: The 1.1 SDK does not support voice recognition APIs. We really do prefer that discussions on this mailing list be limited to APIs, techniques or capabilities that are presented in the SDK.
