Apparently, Build tools version 19 is broken.
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=61710 None of the workarounds worked for me. I tried uninstalling Build Tools 19. Obviously that wasn't the proper way. Now it can't find any build tools. Error executing aapt. Please check aapt is present at /android-sdk-macosx/build-tools/19.0.0/aapt How do I make it look for 18.1.1? And no, gradle and Android Studio didn't work either. Too many weird things happen in the import.
