It's much harder to explain that when the three dots *might* not be there, or might be there in landscape but not portrait. In an earlier thread, someone here mentioned a hack that will force the overflow menu to appear by fooling the device into thinking it doesn't have a menu key. Of course I would never officially use such a hack, but if I had, I would note that it appears to work on 4.04-4.3.
