My quick research showed that the Social Stream API <http://android-developers.blogspot.bg/2012/02/new-social-apis-in-android-ics.html> was introduced in Android 4.0.3 <http://developer.android.com/about/versions/android-4.0.3.html> but was later on deprecated and then removed entirely in Android 5.0.
I was wondering - what is the reason behind (if that information is available at all) and what alternatives are there now?
