I don't use adb to connect to my phone, but if I use the terminal I
can su to root on ADP1 in the terminal app form the market.  If you do
'su'<enter> at the prompt you'll suddenly be able to do other stuff.
It doesn't prompt for a password which I haven't figured out how to
set it, but I can suddenly kill all the procs and such.  It's also
something to keep in mind if you hand your phone to someone as well.
