Greetings, i want to make an app that uses one android device as server, and other devices can connect to it as clients. Additionally i want to add support for other platforms, like web browsers, in the future.
Doing some research i found i could use sockets (socket and serverSocket in Java), to communicate devices in the same network. With this method I've tested already communicating two android apps, and an Android app with a Node.js app, but i'm not sure of how to make devices find each other with this method, i have to manually introduce the port number. I also see that there is a Wi-Fi P2P API, and it has most of the features i need, i just don't know if i could use it to connect to a web app. What would you recommend to use? Will it be possible to do multi platform communication or should i stick to android support only? -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
