Hello, Up to about 2 weeks ago (sic!) I was able to build applications to receive GCM data messages in background. I mean when the application is swiped out of the recent apps list.
That was the case with Studio 1.5.2 and corresponding build tools (?) up to the begining of Jully. So that worked with GCM 8.4.0 up to FCM 9.2.0. I recently updated my development environement to Studio 2.1.2, build tools 24.0.0, java 8, and I realized that built application didn't received data-messages anymore when the application is in background. Strange!! After several hours to investigate without to find anything, I decided to rebuild the project from which I published the working application at the begining of Jully. The resulting application doesn't receive data messages anymore in background. Incredible!! I decided to go a bit more back in time to rebuild a project based on GCM 8.4.0 And the resulting application doesn't receive data message in background anymore! Desaster!!!! I uninstalled/reinstalled everything and same problem with all versions, data-message reception in background doesn't work anymore. According to all researches made on Internet, notably Stackoverflow with very suspicious problems, questions and answers, I suspect something related to the recent developement tools/sdk,...
