I am new to developing apps and mainly to Java and Android (having worked a little with Xcode and Swift). I want to develop an Android app using the Google Speech API in Android Studio, and I am having a really hard time trying to figure out how to implement the API on my project. I already have the API key and all I want to do is to include a button where the user speaks and the API will return the text. Could someone explain to me, step-by-step, how to configure my Android Studio project so I can set up the Speech API, from downloading the API files to the actual implementation?
