*Oversees the daily administration and operation of the AmeriHealth Caritas
SAS environment. This includes SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Visual Analytics,
SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS Text Miner, SAS DataFlux. The SAS MDM tool is to
be implemented soon as well. This position supports the advanced analytics,
predictive analytics and data management initiatives within the company.
The position reports to Manager of Business Intelligence in IS, but most of
the daily interaction is with analysts and statisticians in the Medical
Economics area. This role also collaborates with the Infrastructure area to
ensure the platform meets business needs.*
*Responsibilities*
*• Monitor the SAS environment for availability and performance*
*• Proactively tune the environment to ensure ongoing availability and
performance metrics are met*
*• Understand new business requirements and analyze their impact on the
environment and then work with Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure
to implement any necessary changes to the environment*
*• Assist Infrastructure in capacity planning*
*• Work closely with Medical Economics to tune queries and ensure optimal
use of the environment*
*• Work with IS management and Enterprise Architecture on definition,
communication and enforcement of usage guidelines, strategy and long-term
architecture for SAS tools*
*• Provide guidance on best practice implementation of data quality and MDM
tools and offer input on organizational and process impact within the
organization*
*• Educate end users on best practice and usage guidelines to ensure
optimal use of platform*
*• Consult on use of tool within organization as the in-house go-to expert
on SAS*
*• Understand and offer guidance on where to draw the line between SAS
analytics and more traditional BI tool usage*
