Please note we are seeking an Application Architect to work at a start-up
company who can be responsible for delivering quality design artifacts and
serves as the technical expert for the assigned development group and
associated systems.  This position promotes the development and reuse of
consistent, scalable, and supportable integration solutions, based on
architectural standards, guidelines, and frameworks set within the
enterprise.

*Qualifications and Skills:*

   - Experience in information technology with a focus on developing and
   delivering high quality, innovative solutions to meet business objectives
   - At least 3 years of work experience in application or solution
   architecture
   - Highly experienced building applications with Ruby on Rails
   - Experience with various API gateway technologies to interface with
   inventory, payment systems, etc.
   - Proficient ability to communicate effectively with others using spoken
   and written English including the ability to communicate with technical and
   non-technical stakeholders
   - Ability to resolve technical issues with versatility, flexibility, and
   proactive thought
   - Broad knowledge of application integration best practices, design
   patterns, and technical industry standards
   - Demonstrated ability to integrate enterprise applications using near
   real-time and batch technologies
   - Expert knowledge of data integration and messaging patterns and
   platforms
   - Strong technical skills in middleware, integration, security,
   deployment and configuration
   - Proficient project planning skills, including the ability to organize,
   prioritize and control job responsibilities in order to meet deadlines in
   an environment with overlapping and potentially conflicting priorities
   - Expert analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving abilities
   - Ability to expertly solve complex technical problems, including
   architecting and presenting solutions
   - Proficient knowledge of architecture design concepts and techniques
   and the ability to communicate and evangelize those concepts to a broad
   based team
   - Practical application of software product development standards and
   methodologies including Agile, XP and/or UML
   - Proficient knowledge of enterprise class software requirements
   including security, scalability, and usability
   - Keen attention to detail
   - Focus on QA, risk mitigation, testing, ensuring applications work well
   - Must understand UX and how to build solutions that are smoother,
   better, easier for the customer
   - Start-up mindset - smart, can learn, is adaptive

*Responsible for:*

   - Mentor and foster the growth of technical teams to meet strategic
   objectives
   - Must have experience managing small teams
   - Translate business activities into reusable service components
   - Translate business requirements, using patterns and standards, into
   application level design artifacts
   - Create comprehensive designs that address the needs of key
   stakeholders from the business, solution delivery, and operations areas
   - Engage in the solution process to evolve solution architectures into
   implementation designs and artifacts, while supporting delivery
   - Monitor adherence to corporate standards in architecture, integration
   design, development, and testing frameworks
   - Develops ongoing knowledge of current and emerging technologies.
   Identifies new and emerging solutions, assessing relevance and potential
   value to the organization, and presents findings to teammates and management
   - Lead the prototyping effort of new technologies establishing best
   practices, patterns and architectures
   - Facilitate the evolution of the architecture and governance processes
   - Facilitate the process of approving architecture standards
   - Mentor application team members in architectural principles and
   standards
   - Assist in the most difficult support problems
   - Manage relationships in a manner acceptable to others and to the
   organization (respectful workplace)
