This will include data integrations using vendor-supplied applications and network visualizations of potential protein-protein interactions generated by a computational reasoning engine. Technical Skills Required: * Very strong Java (Spring Framework) and/or Python * Good core knowledge of Linux and shell scripting * Experience with Docker and/or AWS * Git, JIRA, Bamboo/Jenkins, Maven * RESTful APIs Technical Skills Preferred: * Knowledge of search technology (Elastic Search, Solr, Lucene) * Understanding of SQL and NoSQL data stores * Understanding of structured knowledge, representations and knowledge bases in biology (e.g. BEL, OBO/GO, ChEBI, MeSH) * Experience working with graph algorithms (e.g. centrality, radiality, random walk, page rank, TieDIE) Personal Skills * Agile team work: We require engineers who fully understand the value of Agile Scrum/Kanban and take an active role in following the discipline Agile forces on the development cycle. We need engineers who will work hard to see the team achieve high results. Education and Experience * Education: BS Information Science, Computer Science, Biology, pharmacology, chemistry or related science * Experience: 3-5 years of relevant experience in the life science industry, bioinformatics, or computational biology.
