*Title: Data Warehouse Developer*

*Location: Quincy, MA*

*Length: Long Term*

*Healthcare Experience is required.*

 

The Data Warehouse Developer will be working primarily on the MassHealth 
data warehouse Accountable Care Organization data mart and reporting team. 
The MassHealth data warehouse stores claims, provider, member, eligibility, 
enrollment and other data from various sources. The developer must possess 
extensive knowledge of Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, data warehouse architecture and 
methodologies, business intelligence (BI) tools, and health care and 
government data and processes.

The developer will be responsible for implementing code based solutions as 
determined by the team’s project manager and business analysts. The 
developer is responsible for unit testing their code, checking in code on a 
daily basis and maintaining their code as needed. The developer will work 
with a team of programmers who share key concepts and knowledge in order to 
create a unique and exciting work environment. The developer will work 
closely with the project team and business in order to determine best 
practices and solutions for current data quality issues and to plan for 
future strategic goals implementation. The developer will be responsible 
for providing documentation as needed, based on EOHHS standards. The 
developer will be required to work with standard tools including JIRA. 

 

*SPECIFIC DUTIES*

•             Understand and translate business requirements into Data 
Warehouse solutions

•             Create data models and designs to meet specific business 
needs that require sourcing data from multiple source systems

•             Code Oracle ETL scripts that will extract data from an 
operational database and populate the staging and target data warehouse 
schemas

•             Document code and processes for distribution to all 
interested parties

•             Document design using industry standard artifacts for 
documenting data warehouse designs

•             Provide query writing support and tuning expertise to 
analysts and end users

•             Develop shell scripts for production job automation

•             Work in a 24x7 environment which requires on-call rotation

 

*QUALIFICATIONS*

•             3-5 years of experience in database development including 
analyzing, designing, documenting, coding, testing and implementing sql/pl 
code

•             Thorough knowledge of data warehouse principles and 
techniques, specifically dimensional data modeling

•             *Exceptional Oracle SQL skills and PL/SQL skills*

•             Hands on experience with set based operations, analytic 
functions and query hints

•             Command of data warehouse modeling concepts is required

•             Strong problem solving and analytical skills

•             Proficiency with Linux and shell scripting

•             Experience working with a large, multi-terabyte data warehouse

•             Experience with Perl, system administration, database 
administration, storage architectures, backup & recovery and networking

 

*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*

•             BS in Computer Science or related degree, or equivalent 
experience

•             Medicaid or other healthcare or claims processing experience

•             Informatica ETL experience

•             Cognos 10.3 and/or 11 reporting experience
