Qualifications:
- Expert knowledge of IT systems development, including process mapping,
budgeting and timeline creation
- Advanced ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams and drive
projects to completion.
- Demonstrated experience managing and delivering projects in the type of
environment (App Dev, Infrastructure, Integration etc.) specified in the
posting.
- Advanced leadership and analytical skills Advanced written and verbal
communication skills are a must Certifications include PMP, CAPM, PgMP, and
PMI-ACP
- Excellent communication skills including presentations to and
negotiations with Senior IT and Business leaders
- Demonstrated ability to craft and present clear, concise and convincing
messages appropriately targeted to the specific audience
- Demonstrated ability to communicate status and issues effectively both
verbally and in writing across all levels of the organization
Education, Experience & Tools:
- Expert-level in one or more project management tools, such as MS Project
and Clarity.
- General PC knowledge including Microsoft Office; Advanced knowledge of
Excel, working knowledge of Access ; Working knowledge of SharePoint and
Visio required
- Demonstrated desire to comply with the policy and rules and encourage
others to do the same
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business and some
travel requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field (or equivalent
working experience)
- 5+ years of previous project management experience would be typical for
someone to reach this skill level 6-8 years of overall IT experience is
typical for this skill level
- Knowledge of PBM, Specialty Pharmacy and distribution, and/or healthcare
industry helpful
- Formal training in project management practices. Required Certification
in project management (PMP) is strongly preferred
IT Project Manager - Senior holds the overall responsibility for the
successful planning and execution of a project. IT Project Manager - Senior
plays an active role in all phases of a project: Initiation, Planning,
Execution, Monitoring/ Controlling and Closing. IT Project Manager - Senior
strives to enable the project team deliver to or exceed the expectations of
the customer, while balancing conflicting priorities of scope, timeliness
and cost. Risk management, issue and conflict resolution and communication
are critical components of IT Project Manager – Senior’s efforts.
Level Expectations:
- Possesses an advanced level of knowledge of the tools and processes
required by the role Functions well in large-scale, highly complex,
cross-functional / platform environment
- Solid individual performance, but may spend considerable portion of their
time providing direction for others
- Shares knowledge, coaches and mentors Standard level resources in area of
expertise May serve as technical lead in area of expertise May have duties
instructing, directing, and checking the work of others
- Good communication and relationship skills, both in directing the
technical team and updating ESI-CSD leadership
Essential Functions:
- Working with product owners, business managers and a business analyst,
leads the effort to determine solutions to business problems
- Ensures that project scope and objectives are clearly defined and agreed
Maintains many of the critical governing documents for the project team,
including the project plan, issue and risk logs, and other artifacts
- Develops and maintains the project plan and supports the project team to
determine necessary staffing resources
- Ensures that all project tasks are assigned, and that all resources are
being fully utilized
- Assigns individual responsibilities and acts as a management resource for
project team member
- Responsible for oversight, delivery and success of all aspects of the
project not just the IT deliverables
- Optimizes results within business and time constraints Leads meetings
with project team to assess status and resolve issues as they come up
- Reviews and tracks status of project deliverables and provides verbal and
written project updates and ongoing cost analysis to IT delivery, Business
Alignment Team(s), business sponsors and product owners
- Serves as the voice of the project team, leading presentations regarding
project status, as well as current issues and risks
- Manage moderate to the largest IT projects, or and may lead other
sub-team PM
- Advanced understanding of IT budgets, financial forecasting, estimating
and planning staffing requirements Ensures adherence to project management
process and project documentation standards Develops project cost estimates
