Role : Web Architect - Infrasctructure Location : Boston, MA Client : MFS Investments Duration : 6+ month Interview : Phone and F2F · This person is going to have to have experience working with the Infrastructure Teams. · Must have experience with the following technologies and must have Design and implementation. · Please read the description, *I don’t want anyone to just send their senior Developers – Must have the Infrastructure and Architect exp.* · They want someone that understands how the Web Services in operate with Linux and Windows Platforms · Designs/implements/manages Web technologies using web application servers and products such as *IBM WebSphere, MQ, IHS/Apache, JBOSS/Tomcat, IIS, .NET, Windows and Linux.* *BASIC PURPOSE:* The Web Architect is a subject matter expert in Web services infrastructure and is responsible for the design, implementation, and effective and efficient maintenance of related technologies. This individual has expert knowledge of an Enterprise Information Technology infrastructure at large, with a firm understanding of related disciplines around such products as WebSphere, MQ, IIS, .NET and other applications running on Linux and Windows platforms and how they interoperate The Web Architect is responsible for leading design, implementation, and troubleshooting efforts and is directly accountable for the results. The Web Architect’s deep and broad knowledge enables a holistic understanding of the technology environment and the ability to provide mentoring services to junior members of the team. *PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:* 1. Serves as key subject matter expert in the field of Web technologies as noted above as well as maintaining a deep understanding of the field and its related technologies. 2. Provides technical support to ensure the ongoing efficient and reliable operations of related MFS information systems. 3. Proactively develops and maintains strong knowledge of MFS information systems and their related components, and makes recommendations to improve the reliability, scalability, performance, or security of these systems as appropriate. This includes proactive performance tuning and capacity analysis to ensure MFS is maximizing its technology investment. 4. Leverages technology to automate manual tasks, and seeks to improve efficiency wherever practicable and appropriate. 5. Helps develop and helps enforce and maintain MFS Information Security controls, procedures, and standards related to supported applications. 6. Receives broad goals and overall objectives from Management and proactively establishes and implements the methods to attain them. 7. Leads projects and is directly accountable for meeting project objectives including timelines and budgeting. 8. Serves as mentor to other technical team members, and presents technology briefings to IT and business line management as required. 9. Designs/implements/manages Web technologies using web application servers and products such as IBM WebSphere, MQ, IHS/Apache, JBOSS/Tomcat, IIS, .NET, Windows and Linux. 10. Designs advanced strategies for code deployment in a heterogeneous clustered web service environment.
