Role : LIMS Support Analyst Location : Durham, NC Interview : phone and Skype Duration : 12+months *Description:* *REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: * • Strong knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL • Working knowledge of LIMS systems and R&D lab environments and processes • Experience with establishing and running services to support global IT solutions; *PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * • SQLLIMS or StarLIMS experience • GxP, GLP, ITIL • Linux or Windows and administration • Knowledge of network topologies, firewalls, VPNs, and routing protocols, and working with the networking team to set up the necessary configurations. • Support networked laboratory computers / instruments and troubleshoot connections as needed. Ensure continuous monitoring of all laboratory data operations. The primary responsibility of this role is to successfully engage with the R&D community to understand business processes and needs to provide support for IT solutions while possessing governance & standards expertise and guidance. Excellent communication with all stakeholders, both local and global, along with consistent, reliable support is key to the success of this position. The responsibilities of this position are to: • Provide ongoing support of laboratory software applications. Assist with R&D software and hardware deployments with standard and non-standard operating systems & hardware configurations with networking communications. • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) on system hardware, software, network, interfaces and database models; provide secondary support for technical content of applications and sub-systems • Analyze science, engineering, business, and other data processing problems to implement and improve computer systems. • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. May analyze or recommend commercially available software. • Implement backup procedures and restore activities for the laboratory environment for short and long term retention of instrument data. • Work on geographically diverse teams, supporting global solutions. Contribute to innovative strategies, roadmaps and proposals, and obtains senior stakeholder buy-in related to a broad range of R&D IT solutions & technology. • Work closely with scientists to specify and order PC hardware and software as needed for new or existing scientific instrumentation • Support GLP related activities, validation requirements, and maintain GLP-related documentation. • Document break/fix and continuously contribute to centralized knowledge base • 10% travel is required. *WHO YOU ARE * • Bachelor’s Degree with 5+ years, or Master’s Degree with 3+ years, or Doctorate with 2+ years, or 9+ years of applicable business experience; • Highly motivated and people-centric person required with passion to make a positive difference to the R&D community; • Experience in working successfully with diverse cultures, broad range of stakeholders, and global colleagues. • Strong communication skills required - verbally, written and presentation; • Innovative mindset and proven track record of contributing to and supporting innovative solutions.
