*Role : ETL Developer * *Location : Columbus , OH * *Duration : 6+ Month * *Interview : Phone then Face to Face * *Job Responsibilities* (A function is essential if: it is required to be performed - removing the function would fundamentally alter the position; the duties are fundamental, not marginal.) · Operate across all phases of applications systems analysis and programming, including but not limited to designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, installing, etc. · Interpret requirements (written or oral) into technical specifications for projects across a broad knowledge base. · Act independently under general supervision using established software tools. · Design, supervise, plan, and coordinate highly complex projects. · Consider equipment capacity, limitations, and operating time while completing assignments. · Have quality assurance responsibilities and limited after hours on-call support. · Monitor, plan, document, conduct, and evaluate assignment status with project teams and management. · Evaluate progress and results to recommend changes in procedures. · Interact and communicate effectively with all business contacts, including group presentations and meeting facilitation. · Responsible for project completion and user satisfaction on highly complex projects. *MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:* · Update the project management software weekly to reflect assigned task status and effort. · Update the problem management and tracking system to reflect problem status. · Update the Performance Objectives/Evaluation document. · Make suggestions and track internal and external EODB. There may be functions (essential or marginal) of this position not listed in this description. *Job Requirement* · Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or related field, or equivalent education and experience required. · 6+ years of related work experience in similar or directly related functions, preferably in insurance or financial services. · Expert, demonstrated knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, DB2, SQL Server, Teradata, and Netezza, and ETL development. SSIS programming experience a plus. · Ability to work independently under general supervision with considerable latitude for un-reviewed actions or decisions. · Must have an in-depth knowledge of a group's applications programming system / platform and a general knowledge of all groups' applications programming systems. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities. SSIS expertise preferred. · Must possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills, excellent problem solving skills, and the self-motivation to improve skills and abilities as generally acquired through six years of experience. · Must demonstrate leadership, professionalism, and preferably an understanding of the insurance business.
