Hi, I am trying to use an ethernet over USB dongle with my Android Things device. Normally on other Linux OSs, like Ubuntu, cdc_ether/usbnet are a part of the kernel and when I plug the dongle in a USB port, it gets instantly recognized as a network interface. However, on Android Things that is not the case. So far I haven't been able to figure out a way to activate this functionality. There are directories on Android Things suggesting that it should be possible *(/sys/module/usb_f_rndis* and */sys/bus/usb/drivers/cdc_ether*).
Is it currently possible to make this work without recompiling the kernel? If so, could somebody advise me on how to do that, please? I am quite new to Android Things and Android in general so if I just missed something obvious, let me know. Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
