Section 508 compliance is required. *Scope of Work:* Local government entity seeks a highly skilled senior web designer contractor to provide web design services for Internet web sites. The ideal candidate should have an eye for clean and artful design, possess superior user interface design skills, be able to transform high-level requirements into professional, intuitive, and functional designs. The candidate will also need to possess good communication skills (both oral and written) to work with assigned project managers and team members to complete assigned projects in a timely and professional manner. Work requests will be directed by the project manager. Work products will be reviewed with the project manager and project team members prior to implementation in the production environment. *Qualifications* The contractor will be expected to: - have over 5 years of experience with designing web sites - understand basic web site development and responsive web design principals and coding languages (i.e.: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap, and JavaScript) used by the Montgomery County Department of Technology Services to effectively work with project team members and application developers - be proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc. or other visual design and wire-framing tools (Sketch, Zeplin, etc.) - be familiar with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 Level A/AA standards - solve design-related problems creatively and effectively - have solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps - incorporate Montgomery County Government’s responsive design template into website designs - present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to stakeholders ***** Winning candidates should have the following skills/technologies/background:***** - *Demonstrated experience in 508 compliance.* - *Knowledge of Accessibility Guidelines* - *Experience with newer versions of SharePoint and Office 365.
