This position will manage 24/hour support for release and environment
builds. The successful team
player will see environment refreshes end to end and report on progress as
required. This position
will require off hours to support the 24/7 nature of our business to ensure
consistency between all
environments. Along with these duties we will need consistency in delivery
in infrastructure
changes, restores, monitoring and problem ticket investigation and
resolution.
This needed support will include but not be limited to:
• Production replication setup, adjustment and monitoring
• Working with the prod support team to push out releases containing Procs,
Views, inserts, updates,
security changes, scripts, etc.
•* L1 & L2 support of production environment*
• Documentation of existing production systems
• Assist with migrating, deploying and scheduling SSIS packages
• Determining root cause for performance issues, job failures, blocking,
waits, etc.
• SSRS deployment/security changes
• Backup, restores and recoverability
• Problem ticket resolution
• Transactional Replication monitoring and fixing
• AlwaysOn Monitoring
• Adherence to Support SLA
*Qualifications Required*
•
* 5+ years as a DBA with SQL Server with increasing levels of
responsibility• Expertise in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and newer including
AlwaysOn*
• Expertise in determining the root cause of performance issues, job
failures, blocking, waits, etc.
• Strong experience in production transactional replication setup,
adjustment, and monitoring
• Strong experience solving critical issues quickly
• Database server planning and code review
• Experience with database integration tools such as Boomie or equivalent
*Highly Preferred• ScaleArc 3.8 and newe*r or other load balancing software
• Strong database tuning knowledge - Be able to analyze and recommend
configuration and tuning
changes for both OLTP and OLAP databases
• Experience tuning stored procedures to optimize overall code performance
• Azure or other cloud database experience
•
*Experience with Delphix database virtualization• Microstrategy support
knowledge• MS Certification Preferred• DevOps orientation preferred*
