*Summary:* Responsible for providing Windows infrastructure support, which
includes installation, implementation, configuration, troubleshooting and
maintaining all aspects of hardware, Microsoft Operating Systems, Linux
Operating Systems, virtualization platform and supported infrastructure
software.  Assist in software product installations, updates, and
customizations for Windows and Linux infrastructure.  Diagnose research and
resolve Windows and Linux issues using vendor resources and other support
methods.



*DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*



·         Daily Administration of enterprise network computing servers
running Microsoft and Linux operating systems including but not limited to
performing system health checks, monitoring performance, analyzing event
logs, running reports and other activities related to server management in
an enterprise network environment.

·         Monitor problem queue for Windows and Linux infrastructures,
identify and resolve issues in the server environment.

·         Analyze and resolve problems escalated from Desktop Support staff
for login, file access, messaging, DNS, DHCP, network interface,
application interface and other related issues.

·         Identify root causes on server hardware and operating system
issues, download, order and replace necessary files, components and/or
parts as needed.

·         Interface with Desktop Support staff to communicate the status of
problems.

·         Interface with management to identify training opportunities and
report on system status.

·         Identify, recommend and participate in changes to environment
that impact the user community including but not limited to Service Packs,
Upgrades, Patches, Vulnerabilities, and related tasks.

·         Research, analyze, recommend and develop methods to increase
productivity and reduce downtown for the user community.

·         Participate in projects as required and utilize standard project
management methodologies.

·         Install server hardware and operating systems and related
utilities and assist with server and parts inventory as needed.

·         Adhere to standard configuration for servers and recommends
changes as needed for improved server performance or management.

·         Enable clients to interface with various applications (ie
software pushes, application picks, system updates, etc.)

·         Identify the need for and assist with the documentation of
processes and procedures.

·         Participate in the 24 hour on call rotation and respond to server
related issues after hours.

·         Assist management as needed with various tasks that enable the
overall IT department to function efficiently.

·         Proficiency with problem management, change management and asset
management systems.

·         Keep current with the latest virtual technology trends and
innovations to meet the client’s requirements

·         Know the “best practices” when providing a solution to the client



*EDUCATION*

Bachelor’s or Associate degree from an accredited college preferred.



*EXPERIENCE:*

Minimum of 5 years of working experience supporting Windows environments.
Minimum 2 years of experience successfully performing system administration
tasks in an enterprise environment.

·         Able to use a laptop or personal computer and software programs
such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.

·         Supports and focus on safety minded work performance.

·         Supports the Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) and the Disaster
Recovery Plan.

·         VMware ESXi, SUSE Linux, RedHat Linux, VMware vRealize, VMware
vCenter, VMware SRM, vRanger backup, Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange,
Outlook, MS Skype for Business, Powershell scripting, SMS, SCCM, SCOM, SCCM
Endpoint Protection Terminal Services, MS Clustering, Sharepoint, Citrix
XenApp, Citrix Netscaler, Anti-Virus software, IBM/Tivoli backup utilities,
Veritas NetBackup, and other related IT products.

·         Network architecture, DNS, DHCP, FTP, and other related
networking technology.
