I agree with Raymond. Performing an Import / Export is a workaround that some users might not want to go though, specially if they have sensitive data inside the application.
Any idea why didnt google have conversion from FREE to PAID? Also, why cant we create a new app with same app ID? This would solve the problem since 1) FREE app and PAID app cannot coexist on the device. 2) PAID app would access FREE app's app data hence no import / export.
